Chip cards
Chip cards, also known as smartcards, are plastic card with a chip, such as the ones visible on your bank cards. There are three types of chip card - cards with a contact chip, contactless chip and hybrid cards with both types of chip. Depending on the application, chip cards might have a simple memory function, while others can also act as a microprocessor so they can handle secure identification and financial transactions.
